7 Months

Time for another update already! Only 2 months to go! One guy at work was finally not scared to ask if I was pregnant this week - I guess at 5 and 6 months he thought I might just be fat? :-)

Crib and Dresser are ready!

Yesterday we unpacked the dresser, and today I was so happy to come home and find that Isaac had assembled the crib for me too! I got all the bedding washed and put on - it matches the room and Ollie really well! You can't see the big Ollie in the photo, but little Ollie is sitting on the dresser. The crib has 4 adjustable mattress heights and a drop-down side, so it's perfect for short people like me. It makes the ruffle look high in the photo, but that's okay.

There is still lots more to set up and decorate, and I'll have to take fancy pictures in the daylight once we get more organized, but here's a preview of the nursery:

Caution: Dancys Nesting

This Sunday morning I decided to get a preview of my next 25 Father's Days. That is, I got up early and chamois'ed up and escaped out the garage before anyone else had gotten up.

Today's route was epic. Lyons to Raymond, Raymond to Ward to Nederland, Nederland to Pinecliffe and onward to Wondervu, down Coal Creek Canyon to Gross Reservoir, and returning to Longmont via Super Flagstaff and Highway 36. That's 6,000 feet of climbing!

5.5 hours under my belt and Boulder is finally in sight!

105 miles and nearly 7 hours in the saddle. There may have, umm, been an ice cream break or three.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Jenna is nesting in her own way...

As Isaac said, I got in the "nesting" mode recently, and wanted to make a blanket for the baby. The only problem is we don't know the sex and we want to keep the baby names a secret! So, I decided to make a practice one for now. I picked out some neutral fleece and sewed on the name we are sure of - "Dancy". I'll make a real one once DanDan arrives.

Halloween Candy is Here!

I wouldn't normally be excited about Halloween candy arriving at the grocery store, but it means we're getting close to DanDan arriving! The baby should be here before Halloween! Isaac thinks it'll be November, but I'm hoping for the end of October (due date is the 30th).

I'm already starting to get lots of questions about if I'm having the baby "soon" - and while I'm excited that 10 weeks is pretty soon, people seem to think I'm getting ready to pop! If they think I'm big now, they're going to really freak out in another couple months!

Must be 'cross season ...

... because I just went for a run for the first time in months, did some short hill repeats, and lifted my bike over my head 60 times.

Recovery Weekend

What happens when 13 house guests leave? We do nothing! On Saturday Isaac and I sat on the couch and watched the Olympics all day! I managed to mow the lawn and go for a swim, so I figured that was enough for the day. On Sunday Isaac raced and did some 'cross riding, and I did my preggo workout DVD, but then we followed it up with dinner out and some more Olympics. I did have to mix in about 6 loads of laundry and some vacuuming/bathroom cleaning, but all in all it was a pretty relaxing weekend. The Al Dancy's (Abram & Leigh & kids) are coming back for a couple days at the end of their trip, but 6 people is going to be like nothing!

Camping in Rocky Mountain National Park

While all the Dancies and Leibigs were here last week, we went up to Glacier Basic campground in RMNP. I brought a thick air mattress and nice pillows from home, so it was actually pretty comfortable! After being in the 90's for three weeks, I really enjoyed the cooler weather up there. We did some easy hiking around Bear Lake, and it happened to Hail while we were waiting under the shelter!

Surprise Baby Shower!

This weekend we had a lot of Isaac's family in town for a vacation, so tons of Dancies are squished into our little house. Then, on Saturday morning the doorbell rang, and I was shocked to find my parents at the door! (see the surprise on their blog). Yesterday, after some careful coaxing by Isaac of how I should "call Jennifer and stop by to see Nola" and "go shopping with Leigh on the way" I arrived at Kevin and Jennifer's to find 30+ friends and family there for the surprise!

Here's a couple of photos, but we need to get the pictures from other people's cameras too.

Heading out for 2 days of camping in Rocky Mountain National Park!

Thanks everyone for the shower and the gifts and thanks to the great hosts for the nice catering too!

My Fun Birthday Party

Isaac organized a little dinner party for my birthday, themed "Jenna's Favorite Things". We had an amazing meal (that Isaac prepared, of course) including Filet Mignon, mashed potatoes, green beans, grilled eggplant, and fresh bread. It also meant I had an excuse to make chocolate mousse for dessert!

I do have the best hubby ever! Thanks honey!
