Happy Thanksgiving!

We spent Thanksgiving with lots of family over at Abram and Leigh's yesterday, and we had such a nice day. Aidan actually slept through a lot of dinner, so it gave us a chance to eat slowly and talk. :-) Then he woke up in time to enjoy the end of the feast. He loved butterhorns, mashed potatoes, and apply pie. What's crazy to me is that it's no longer first holidays for him!

He loves picking up the phone and saying "Hi!" I think this is my favorite current photo of him.

He's gotten into petting the cats lately, and they seem to enjoy it!

Rachel was inspired by her pink pillow to make one for Aidan to match his blanket! We were so impressed - she cut out the A and sewed it on and sewed all the edges by hand!

Aidan (with Mira) loved playing with the A.

All smiles!

Weekend Update

It's already the end of another weekend, but we're looking forward to a short work week and then Thanksgiving! We took Aidan to Northfield Mountain yesterday, where Tobin was running in Cross Country States. He had a great season but actually had his best times a few weeks ago, so he was a little disappointed with his result. Still, it was great to see such a big race. The rest of the time we were mostly at home, playing. Rachel slept over and we sewed a cute pink pillow with an R on it! I'll have to get a photo.

AJ kept poking his head out to play with Daddy.

Tobin at the 2 mile mark, with Abram cheering him on.

Aidan actually kept the hat on!

We set up this tunnel again and again and Aidan loves crawling through it.

A Day at the Museum

Today I took AJ to the local Children's Museum, and he loved it! They have a whole house designed for toddlers and preschoolers, where every room has a different theme and lots of things to explore.

We had fun playing with all the tracks and balls. It was just like my high-school physics project all over again!

Loading coal into the steam engine on the train.

Watching the golf balls go down the ramps.

It's so exciting!

In the safari room, he instantly picked up the monkey and carried it around until I made him leave it there to go to the next room :-)

On the wobbly bridge.

Lunch time! mmm plastic chicken.

He loved the slide!

He could do down it all by himself!

A shark jumped up towards his ship to say hi.

And at the end he had fun splashing around at the water table.

More AJ

Here are a few more photos of the little cutie from Sunday, hanging out at home.

Aidan has figured out how to put change in the little slot in his piggy bank - impressive fine motor skills!

Growth Spurt

Last night Aidan slept for 11 hours, and today his two naps totaled almost 5 hours! I must admit it was pretty nice after he was a little sick last weekend and then had some serious teething pain during the week.

So, now my hardwood floors are sparkling, the rooms are vacuumed, most of the laundry is done and put away, and my new wall organizer is set up in the kitchen.

And, Aidan how has a molar! We kept looking next to his other teeth, then all of a sudden realized his top left molar came in!

He's also been working on his talking, and seems to mean Mom when he says "MaMaMa". He also said "Hi" to us a few times when he first saw us :-)

Monkeying Around

Here's a video of Aidan in action at 11 months. We're *only* 2 months behind!

Random Happenings

Another busy week has flown by, and 7 days with no updates is ages for me! I'm heading to bed in a minute, just wanted to post a few pictures from the last week.

Aidan loved getting pushed around in the play stroller!

We carved a pumpkin that had Aidan's teeth pattern!

Last night we had tacos over here, so Aidan enjoyed some reading time with Tobin.

Aidan was working on pulling his new wooden puppy - as the wheels spin, the legs run!

With an acre entirely covered in leaves, we decided to get a real leaf blower. It still took Isaac two hours, but with rakes it would have taken 1-2 days!
