What an arm!

Aidan's favorite activity lately has been playing catch - and he can throw amazingly well! We're always impressed with his aim and strength, and he even seems to know which ball to throw which way. He loves playing with Isaac and we hear that he plays a lot with his caregiver's 7-year-old son too. He's been getting better at catching, so that it doesn't just turn into fetch!

AJ and I had a fun morning at the Ecotarium, in Worcester. It's a fairly small natural science museum, but they had enough things to explore for a couple of hours. Aidan enjoyed lifting up the flaps to see different animals inside, and he sat through a live snake show with all the big kids! We played with cars, puzzles, windsocks, rocks, and all sorts. Now it's time for my Friday housework while he naps.

As Easy As It Gets...

For a while, that is.

It's going to get much crazier pretty soon with a toddler and a baby, and even before that I have to get through the third trimester while still chasing Aidan around! So, lately I've been trying to enjoy this somewhat easier time, when being pregnant is barely noticeable except for a bump and the occasional (and exciting!) kick from the baby, and Aidan is full of smiles and kisses and on a great routine. I know that in a few months I'll be remembering back to the days when I could relax after 8pm at night, and not have to get up at all during the night! Long gone are the days when we slept in on the weekend, or went for a ride and then did nothing for a few hours, but now it's a victory when Aidan lets us sleep past 7:30 on a weekend (and unless it really sounds like there's something wrong, we won't even go get him until at least 7 now!) So, now that I did dishes, laundry, and blogged, I'm going to watch some TV until I fall asleep on the couch.

Baby 2 and Weekend Update

Isaac posted the ultrasound picture the other day but we really haven't written anything about it, so I figured I would tonight. The baby seemed to be sleeping and wasn't really moving around like Aidan's 20 week ultrasound. But, everything looked as it should and it had a nice heart rate about 160, with 10 fingers and 10 toes. The baby had his/her hand up next to the face, so we didn't get any good profile images, and the one from the front just looked like a skeleton!

We didn't find out the gender, but my bet is a girl. I'm not quite as certain as I was with Aidan, but definitely have a feeling. I got lots of questions about the belly updates, so I guess I will have to take photos again after all. I was feeling like I was getting big until I saw how enormous I'll have to be at the end.

It's the end of another fun weekend filled with playing outside, playing in the basement, and playing all over the house!

Boston Children's Museum

Isaac and I took Aidan to the museum on Saturday, and he had a great time exploring. We'll have to go back once he's a little older since they have a lot of bigger kid stuff too, but there was plenty of entertainment for him for one day.

Aidan and I climbed the big structure together. I was worried I'd get stuck at times! It was pretty tight going from platform to platform.

It got pretty scary near the top, you can't tell how high we were, but we seemed to be way up there!

Pausing for a quick pose with Daddy.

This worked out well - Aidan likes riding in things, and this other boy loved pushing the cart!

We played for a long time in the construction center.

He liked putting on the real vest and hard hat.

And we had to see his cute little face in the hole.

It was a great family day, but we found it humorous that we went to Boston and back by 2pm!!

15 Months!

Got a few recent pictures that I've been meaning to post, so here they are! Aidan's as funny and smiley as ever, he's learning so fast, and we're having a blast.

Modeling my new Christmas present.

Excited to climb the ladder...

and slide down.

Just like wearing my boots, but even bigger!

He's gotten really good at eating with a fork, and loved meatballs this week.

Sporting his new "Super AJ" shirt that I made :-)

Dancing Baby

Yesterday we had another Dancy birthday party (Sarai, Marita, and Nettie) over at Abram and Leigh's. Everyone crowded around and watched as people tried to follow the moves on the Wii dance game. The funniest part was after dinner, when the living room was totally empty and quiet: Aidan walked in, picked up the Wii remote, tried to turn on the TV, and started dancing!!! We helped him get the game set up to show the moves, and he had a blast dancing around. He wouldn't give up the remote for 3 songs! He even scored quite a few points :-)

The motivation...

He learned High-Five from Grandpa last week, practiced with Isaac.

Then he was wiped out and cuddled with Sophie and Carmen until bedtime.
